Hello fellow rock and rollers! If you don't know, we are THE CARBONS and we are turning this beautiful bus into a mobile stage! We are giving this girl a complete overhaul and heading straight to YOUR driveway or backyard to give you the outdoor concert you deserve! We already purchased the bus to show you how serious we are about this but we need your help to finish the job. Why a bus you ask? Keep reading :)

CAROL

CAROL

Meet Carol the Carbon-Mobile. She is a fat, fun, free spirit who just wants some love like everyone else. Are you going to deny her that? Neither are we! Complete with stage lights, live-sound system, solar panels, a sexy paint job and a dangerously-safe roof stage, Carol is here to bring you a much needed smile and to shake the rust off your dance moves. We know you miss live music as much as us and we know it’s harder to find than ever so we are gonna make this easy by pulling up in your neighbourhood and playing outside while you enjoy the party from your front yard, driveway, backyard, or wherever you want to sit or stand (standing and dancing is highly encouraged though). Everyone who supports this cause to revive live music will get their name on the bus and a chance to win a full hour concert. Thank you everyone for your support and for hanging in there with us.

Through the cold and dark winter of 2021 you all kept a little flame burning inside of us and one day after seeing a friend suffer another show cancellation, that flame sparked a thought: "What if we had our own outdoor venue?" We first thought about a flat bed truck but that idea had several issues including weather unpredictability. After hours of brainstorm and research, we finally found Carol on kijiji.

Why not just do private outdoor gigs? Uhh because this is way more rock and roll!? Also because unlike many solo artists who are back at it playing outdoor shows with their acoustic guitars and small speakers, as a band, we have more complicated requirements to put on a show...we have a drummer haha! In all seriousness though, behind the scenes, there are hours of work that go into putting on a show and the bus will reduce our set-up, sound check and tare-down to almost zero. Secondly, not everyone has a beautiful stage like this one in their backyard:

SUMMER SHOW 2020

SUMMER SHOW 2020

Carol will allow us to play for anyone who has a front yard or a driveway, or even a campground. It can be expanded to Cul-de-Sacs and can even be used for block parties once those are allowed again. Finally, it is weather-proof. Rain or shine we do not have to worry about damaging our equipment and cancelling last minute. All our equipment will be inside with the exception of a couple guitars and a couple speakers. Unless it's a torrential downpour with lightning bolts, we'll be dancing in the rain!

We care so much about bringing live music back because music heals and we all need a little healing right now. We want this to be available to as many people as possible and so we are also going to go door-to-door in our community to play 1 or 2 songs to anyone who wants a little ray of sunshine at their front step.

Update: WE ARE GOING ON TOUR! Funding has surpassed our initial goal of $10,000 and we are now going on tour across Canada! Our new goal is 1000 backers! Yep you heard that right! With just a small donation of $10 from 1000 people, we will feed Carol and ourselves for a full month while going across the country! You guys have already been sharing the shit out of this and now it’s time to turn on the TURBO! Thank you all so much for reviving live music with us!

Three weeks after we purchased the bus, we had our first successful jam out of it. We played our first pop up gig a week later and we have been gigging ever since! We recently purchased our sound system so we don’t have to keep renting anymore! Next on the list is the roof stage! We will continue updating the bus as funding continues to coming in but we can’t wait any longer to get started! See you soon!

UPCOMING SHOWS:

Meet

the Carbons

“At times dark, but always pure”

Forged in Western Canada, The Carbons are a renegade rock band known for their multi-climactic live shows, deep powerful vocals and huge groovy drums. They have toured across Australia, the US and Canada and opened up for international bands like Pop Evil, The Trews and Sloan. In 2021 they were featured on CBC The National and Global News after converting a minibus into a mobile stage. After a successful summer in BC with Carol (the bus) they took her on tour through Canada and performed 52 times in 26 days. They released their Sophomore album SHALLOW AND DEEP in January 2022 and Thisdale is now recording their 3rd album INSIDE Carol.

Earlier in 2019 the trio released their most anticipated single yet: “Sleep”. Less than a week into the release, the single was featured on Global News and received impressive reviews on several media outlets. “While the band doesn’t stray too far from their traditional sound, the new escalator of a song sees [The Carbons] tip-toe into previously untouched territory with crooning guitars, a lulling tempo and topped off with a sprinkle of classical finesse....the track takes you into a state of insomnia and is equipped with all of the emotions that come with it— including the mind’s hyperactive tendencies and utter exhaustion...” - Savannah Bagshaw at KelownaNow.

Off-stage, The Carbons can be found shredding some gnar, ripping through waves, and revving motorcycles through the Canadian Rockies. They often end the day with a craft beer in hand, a movie quote battle and depending on the number of beers, a lengthy conversation about all the world’s problems. Their environment fuels them with inspiration and they are already preparing the follow-up to their debut album August Ash.

Their debut LP August Ash is a 10-song groove rock ride that explores the shallower waters of young adulthood and progressively dives into deeper human challenges like mental health and temptation. The LP was released in May 2018 and their unique “groove rock” sound has spread like wildfire ever since. With songs like “Jerry, Can I Dance with Your Sister?”, “All I Need”, and “Stuck in Your Head”, the trio delivers melodies that grab you by the earlobes and lyrics that tickle your soul. Only eight months after the release, they returned from their cross-Canada 10,000km Tour and concluded 2018 by opening up for Spotify giants Pop Evil and Royal Tusk. In that time, they also wrote and recorded three singles with Juno-nominee (The Glorious Sons) John Angus MAcDonald of The Trews.

Their newer singles “Black Mirror” and “Comforts That Kill” are a continuation of the dive. The tracks uncover topics such as “...the common fear that our best years may be behind us.” Black Mirror was released first and earned them radio play all over Canada, US, and Australia. The second single “Comforts That Kill" was co-written with two of the members from The Trews and was released September 2019. Saving the best for last, The Carbons released “Superheroes” in May 2020. Three weeks into the release, the song has already broken all their previous records.

The Carbons normally tour Canada relentlessly. Over 100 shows deep and six provinces across, they have shared the stage with Canadian Legends such as The Trews and Sloan. In that time they landed on legendary stages such as The Horseshoe Tavern, The Roxy, and The Gateway and have earned radio play and interviews on several commercial radio stations across Canada including X92.9, Power 104, The Wolf 106.9, and Rock 97.9.
